Druid Class Features

Nature Bond (link)

This bond can take one of two forms. … The second option is to form a close bond with an animal companion. Unlike normal animals of its kind, an animal companion's Hit Dice, abilities, skills, and feats advance as the druid advances in level. Most animal companions increase in size when their druid reaches 4th or 7th level, depending on the companion (7th). If a druid releases her companion from service, she may gain a new one by performing a ceremony requiring 24 uninterrupted hours of prayer in the environment where the new companion typically lives. This ceremony can also replace an animal companion that has perished.

Studied Target (link)

At 1st level, a nature fang gains the slayer’s studied target class feature. At 5th level and every 5 levels thereafter, the nature fang’s bonus against her studied target increases by 1. A nature fang can study an opponent he can see as a move action. The nature fang then gains a +1 bonus on Bluff, Knowledge, Perception, Sense Motive, and Survival checks attempted against that opponent, and a +1 bonus on weapon attack and damage rolls against it. The DCs of druid class abilities against that opponent increase by 1. A nature fang can only maintain these bonuses against one opponent at a time; these bonuses remain in effect until either the opponent is dead or the nature fang studies a new target. If a nature fang deals sneak attack damage to a target, he can study that target as an immediate action, allowing him to apply his studied target bonuses against that target (including to the normal weapon damage roll). At 5th, 10th, 15th, and 20th levels, the bonuses on weapon attack, damage rolls, and skill checks and to druid DCs against a studied target increase by 1. Unlike a slayer, a nature fang does not gain the ability to maintain more than one studied target at the same time. The nature fang may discard this connection to a studied target as a free action, allowing him to study another target in its place. This ability replaces nature sense, wild empathy, and woodland stride.

Trackless Step (link)

Starting at 3rd level, a druid leaves no trail in natural surroundings and cannot be tracked. She may choose to leave a trail if so desired.

Slayer Talent (link)

At 4th level and every 2 levels thereafter, a nature fang selects a slayer talent. Starting at 12th level, she can select an advanced slayer talent in place of a slayer talent. She uses her druid level as her slayer level to determine what talents she can select. This ability replaces wild shape.

Sneak Attack (link)

At 4th level, a nature fang gains sneak attack +1d6. This functions as the rogue sneak attack ability. If the nature fang gets a sneak attack bonus from another source, the bonuses on damage stack. This ability replaces resist nature’s lure.

Swift Studied Target (link)

At 9th level, a nature fang can study an opponent as a move or swift action. This ability replaces venom immunity.

A Thousand Faces (link)

At 13th level, a druid gains the ability to change her appearance at will, as if using the alter self spell, but only while in her normal form.

Timeless Body (link)

After attaining 15th level, a druid no longer takes ability score penalties for aging and cannot be magically aged. Any penalties she may have already incurred, however, remain in place. Bonuses still accrue, and the druid still dies of old age when her time is up.

Slayer Talents

Ranger Combat Style (Mounted [Ride-By Attack]) (link)

The slayer selects a ranger combat style (such as archery or two-weapon combat) and gains a combat feat from the first feat list of that style. He can choose feats from his selected combat style, even if he does not have the normal prerequisites.

Ranger Combat Style (Mounted [Spirited Charge]) (link)

At 6th level, he may select this talent again and add the 6th-level ranger combat feats from his chosen style to the list.

Rogue Talent (Combat Trick [Power Attack]) (link)

A slayer can select one of the following rogue talents in place of a slayer talent: bleeding attack… combat trick,…

Ranger Combat Style (Mounted [Mounted Skirmisher]) (link)

At 10th level, he may select this talent again and add the 10th-level ranger combat feats from his chosen style to the list.

Advanced Rogue Talent (Opportunist) (link)

Once per round, the rogue can make an attack of opportunity against an opponent who has just been struck for damage in melee by another character. This attack counts as an attack of opportunity for that round. Even a rogue with the Combat Reflexes feat can't use the opportunist ability more than once per round.

Advanced Rogue Talent (Feat [Trick Riding]) (link)

A rogue may gain any feat that she qualifies for in place of a rogue talent.

Special

Link (link)

A druid can handle her animal companion as a free action, or push it as a move action, even if she doesn't have any ranks in the Handle Animal skill. The druid gains a +4 circumstance bonus on all wild empathy checks and Handle Animal checks made regarding an animal companion.

Rake (link)

A monster with the rake ability gains two free claw attacks that it can use only against a grappled foe. A monster with the rake ability must begin its turn already grappling to use its rake—it can’t begin a grapple and rake in the same turn.

Scent (link)

The creature can detect opponents within 30 feet by sense of smell. If the opponent is upwind, the range increases to 60 feet; if downwind, it drops to 15 feet.

Share Spells (link)

The druid may cast a spell with a target of “You” on her animal companion (as a spell with a range of touch) instead of on herself. A druid may cast spells on her animal companion even if the spells normally do not affect creatures of the companion's type (animal). Spells cast in this way must come from a class that grants an animal companion. This ability does not allow the animal to share abilities that are not spells, even if they function like spells.

Lesser Elemental Manifestation (link)

At 2nd level, an elemental companion gains one or more special abilities based on its element. An earth companion gains DR 1/adamantine, and this damage reduction increases by 1 for every 4 druid levels the master has. This replaces evasion and improved evasion.

Devotion (link)

An animal companion gains a +4 morale bonus on Will saves against enchantment spells and effects.

Grab (link)

If the creature hits with the indicated attack, it deals the normal amount of damage and tries to start a grapple as a free action without provoking an attack of opportunity. Unless otherwise noted, grab works only against opponents the same size category as the creature or smaller. Creatures with the grab special attack receive a +4 bonus on combat maneuver checks to start and maintain a grapple.

Pounce (link)

When a creature with this special attack charges, it can make a full attack (including rake attacks if the creature also has the rake ability).

Greater Elemental Manifestation (link)

At 9th level, an elemental companion gains an additional ability based on its element. An earth companion’s natural attacks overcome damage reduction as though they were adamantine, cold iron, and silver weapons. This replaces Multiattack.
